Zambri pulls clear of pack

Chris Zambri continued rolling in putts on Saturday and finds himself alone atop the leaderboard at the $500,000 BUY.COM Omaha Classic at The Champions Club.

Zambri, who had shared the lead with Ahmad Bateman in the first round and David Berganio Jr. after the second round, moved to 17-under-par 199 with his 67. Bateman (67) is one stroke back in second and Berganio sits alone in third at 15 under after his 69. Steve Ford (67) and Lee Rinker (69) are tied for fourth at 14-under, while Richard Johnson (64), Spike McRoy (64), Mark Wurtz (66) and Charles Warren (68) are tied for sixth, four strokes behind the leader.

Zambri will be hoping to use the experience he gained from his last third-round lead two years ago at the Greensboro Open. Zambri held a one-stroke lead over Joe Ogilvie then, but Ogilvie's final-round 66 vaulted him to a four-stroke win.

"Tomorrow is so important for me," said Zambri, who is looking for his first BUY.COM TOUR win. "But on the flip side this is my career and I'm going to do it for a long time. It's not the be all end all, but gosh it would have a huge impact on my career right now. It really would if I play well tomorrow.

"I don't have any plans. I'm just going to go out and do what I've been doing for the last 15 years. You play and it's easy to say you want to hit it in the fairway. If I could just say it and do it I probably wouldn't be sitting here right now. I would be taking a week off on the Tour
