Johnson gains three shot victory

Kevin Johnson shot a 2-under-par 70 on today for a three-stroke victory over Mark Hensby in the Buy.com Tour's Permian Basin Open.

Johnson, 33, a three-time winner in six seasons on the tour, had a 20-under 268 total on The Club at Mission Dorado course. He opened with consecutive 64s and shot a 70 on Saturday.

The former Clemson star earned $72,000 to jump from 58th to 16th on the money list with $130,617. The top 15 at the end of the season will earn 2001 PGA Tour cards.

Hensby closed with a 71. He earned $43,200 to push his tour-leading total to $284,943.

Todd Barranger followed his third-round 62 with a 72 to finish third at 272.
