 NOTES:
This is the 10th of 29 official events on the BUY.COM Tour this year and
is the second of four new events on the BUY.COM Tour this season. The
Canadian PGA was allocated 20 exemptions from the BUY.COM Tour. Nine spots
to each zone of the Canadian PGA, three spots to the top 3 Canadians from the
2001 Canadian Tour's Order of Merit, three spots for the top 3 finishers from
the 2000 Ping Canadian PGA Club Professional Champions, 2 spots to the most
recent Canadian PGA Champions from the last 10 years (otherwise not exempt),
2 spots for special Canadian PGA exemptions and 1 spot for the 2000 Canadian
PGA Assistants' champion (Ashley Chinner). First staged in 1912, the Canadian
PGA Championship is the second oldest professional golf championship in
Canada and boasts a legacy of legendary champions like Arnold Palmer, George
Knudson, Lee Trevino, Al Balding and Raymond Floyd. Chad Wright captured this
event last year by one over Jason Bohn and Chris Anderson while Chinner won
this event in 1996. DiamondBack Golf Club hosted this event in 1999. Next week
the BUY.COM Tour moves back to the United States for the Greater Cleveland
Open at Quail Hollow Country Club, where Deane Pappas will defend his title.
