NOTES:
One shot off the pace after round one, Lorie Kane carded rounds of 66-71
to post a three-shot win last year and register her first career LPGA win.
Kane, who now has four career wins, defeated Kristi Albers by three and Karrie
Webb, Pat Hurst, Sally Dee and Rosie Jones by four. Webb closed to within two
of Kane, but bogeyed the 17th hole and finished with a round of 68. Kane's 36-
hole total of 134 tied the tournament record set by Vicki Fergon in 1996. Last
year's maiden win snapped a streak of nine runner-up finishes. Annika
Sorenstam has won this event four times in the events seven-year history. Last
year, Sorenstam finished tied for 17th, eight shots behind Kane. This is the
second straight year in which Fox Run Golf Club is hosting this tournament.
Forest Hills Country Club had hosted this event since its inception in 1994.
Next week the LPGA Tour moves to New York for the Sybase Big Apple Classic
where Sorenstam will defend her title.
