Garcia unhappy after
round of 72
Sergio Garcia completed
a disappointing second round in the 2001 Open Championship at Royal Lytham today.
The popular Spaniard was particularly erratic over the front nine as he compiled
a score of 72, one-over-par for a total of 142, level-par at the halfway stage.
Garcia opened his round
with a sequence of bogey-birdie-bogey-birdie and finished his round with the bogeys
out-numbering the birdies by one.
"I'm very disappointed
with my score," said the candid 21-year-old. "I haven't played this
bad in over a year but I'm happy with the way I held it together. I will just
go back to the range and work on it, I'm not that far away and hopefully I can
get it back."
