NOTES:
Tied for the lead with David Park after three rounds, Padraig
Harrington fired a Sunday 68 to post a two-shot win over American
Gerry Norquist. Park stumbled home with a five-over 76 to tie for
17th. Harrington carded four rounds in the 60's to capture his second
career win. The talented Irishman, who added another title later in
the year, had finished second no fewer than nine times since his
maiden win in 1996. Eduardo Romero, Ian Poulter and Pedro Rodolfo
Martinez finished tied for third with four rounds in the 60's along
with Steve Webster, four shots back. Matthew Blackey, who set the
course record of 63 during round two to assume the midway point lead,
finished tied for 13th with rounds of 71-73 over the weekend. Most of
the top players on the European Tour are competing this week on the
PGA Tour at THE PLAYERS Championship, including 2000 winner of this
event Harrington. The European Tour remains in South America next week
for the inaugural Open de Argentina at the Jockey Club in Buenos Aires.
