Lane vaults into lead with 65

England's Barry Lane will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the B&H International after a breaking the course record at the new-look Belfry with a 7-under-par 65.

Lane, winless on the Tour for seven years, leads from compatriot Greg Owen, who fired a 70, while the challenge of joint overnight leader Colin Montgomerie waned with a 73. The Scot now lies five shots behind the pace set by Lane of 10-under-par.

Lane owed his lead to a stunning front nine which saw him go out in just 30. After birdies at the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 8th, he then produced a wonderful eagle two, holing without bouncing after hitting an eight iron, at the 433-yard par four 9th.

''I was aiming for it, I suppose,'' he smiled. ''But if it had hit the flagstick an inch higher it might have gone either in the bunker or the water.

''That's the luck of the draw and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. It would mean an awful lot to me to win again,'' he added.

He followed that up with more picked up shots at the 15th and 17th with a bogey at the par-three 12th his only blemish of the day.

Angel Cabrera moved into contention with a third-round 68 to be three behind the leader, alongside England's Peter Baker who lies on 7-under after a 70.

Monty carded four bogeys and three birdies in his disappointing round which leaves him with all to do on Sunday.
