| Allenby sacks
caddie on eve of championship Robert
Allenby has dumped caddy Bill Poore on the eve of the US PGA Championship at the
Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. The
Australian has picked up Neil Wallace for the Championship, but only plans to
use the South African for a week. Allenby
gave no reason why he was replacing the American after two months in the job with
Wallace, who has previously worked with Ernie Els and Aaron Baddeley. Allenbys
form has slipped in the past month, including missing the cut at the British Open
and last weeks Buick open. "My
mind was shot after the British Open," Allenby told AAP. "Mentally I
wasn't quite there. I was rusty last week but 100 per cent of me is here this
week. "I
feel very fresh and keen to play."
