Bjorn vaults into halfway
lead
Denmark's Thomas Bjorn shot an 8-under-par 64 Friday and held a two-stroke
lead after two rounds of the French Open.
Bjorn made nine birdies, including four straight starting at No. 8, and missed
the course record on the Albatross course at the French National club by a stroke.
He finished at 10-under 134.
Denmark's Anders Hansen (66), England's Philip Golding (70) and David Howell
(65), Spain's Jose Manuel Lara (69) and Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts (70) were
tied for second at 8-under 136.
Justin Rose fired a 3-under 69 and was tied for seventh with Scotland's Stephen
Gallacher (69) at 137. Two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal followed
an opening 70 with a 68 and was tied for ninth at 138.
