Miguel Angel Jimenez wins by two shots

Spain's Miguel Angel Jiménez won the Johnnie Walker Classic on Sunday, closing with a 4-under-par 68 to beat Denmark's Thomas Björn and India's Jyoti Randhawa by two strokes.

Jiménez birdied five holes on the front nine and had two birdies and three bogeys on the back to finish at 17-under 271 for his eighth European title.

"I played great all through the round," the 40-year-old Jiménez said. "I hit the ball decently. Björn played very well today and made a lot of putts, while he was unlucky on the par 5s."

Björn, who had led for three days, made bogey on the par-5 14th and 17, and closed with a 68.

"The golf he played on the front nine was out of this world," Bj örn said. "Every single shot. It's nice to see him there."

Randhawa had the day's best round of 64, highlighted by double eagles on the seventh and 16th holes. He surged to second from 26th place.

PGA champion Shaun Micheel closed with a 67 that left him in a group of six at 274. Defending champion Ernie Els had a 69 to finish at 275.

Six-time major winner Nick Faldo, who hasn't won a title since 1997, and Colin Montgomerie were among those at 276. British Open champ Ben Curtis finished at 284.

The $1.8 million Johnnie Walker Classic is Asia's richest event on the Australasian and Asian tours. The tournament is also part of the European tour.
