Darren Clarke unhappy despite shooting 67

Darren Clarke moved up the British Open leaderboard with a five-under-par 67 on Saturday but the Briton was not satisfied with his third round.

A run of four birdies from the fifth put the Northern Irishman within sight of overnight leader Tiger Woods but a bogey from out of the blue at 10 halted his momentum.

"A 67 was the worst I could have shot," said Clarke after jockeying into a top-10 position on six-under.

"I gave myself so many chances but just like the first two days, I bogeyed just at the wrong time.

Clarke hit a perfect drive into the wind on the 10th but found a bunker.

"I can't hit a five-wood 290 yards, but this time I did," he said.

"The ball just fell in so I had a very difficult shot."

Clarke, who tied second in 1997 Open and tied third four years later, believes the title could prove beyond him.

"The gap between me and Tiger is probably too much.

"If I could shoot a 65 you never know. Tiger will be tough to catch, he's playing too smart, but if he gets too aggressive he could find trouble."
