Leonard & Parnevik make hole in ones
American Justin Leonard and Swede Jesper Parnevik aced the 192-yard 13th hole in the Players Championship second round on Friday.
Leonard used a five-iron to produce the tournament's 24th hole-in-one since the Players was first held in 1974.
Parnevik followed suit later, taking out a seven-iron in stronger winds to achieve the seventh ace in tournament play at the Stadium Course's par-three hole.
Leonard, the 1997 British Open champion at Royal Troon, went on to card a two-under-par 70 for a 36-hole total of one-over 145.
Parnevik finished one stroke better, returning a second successive 72. |
