Shi-Hyun Ahn and Juli Inkster share lead

Shi-Hyun Ahn and Juli Inkster share the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the 2.25 million dollar LPGA Canadian Women's Open on Friday.

Inkster, 47, fired a 5-under-par 66 to give her a two-day total of 8-under 134 and a share of a one-shot lead at the Royal Mayfair Country Club.

Starting from the back nine, she bogeyed her second hole but settled down with three birdies over the next seven holes.

Inkster, who has 31 wins on the LPGA tour, wrapped up her day with three birdies on her final nine.

"You know, I played very good yesterday, and today I played good, also," Inkster said. "I just kind of stuck with it and made a good long birdie putt on 18 that kind of got me going for the front side."

Ahn's day was highlighted by a hole-in-one on the 157-yard 16th hole for an eagle, helping her to a 4-under 67.

The South Korean, who also got started on the back nine, added three birdies before finishing her day with a bogey on the eighth hole and parring the ninth.

"That's 158 yards into the wind," Ahn said. "I hit a 6-iron, high draw shot, and then it went in."

Michelle Wie was not a fortunate, missing the cut by shooting a combined 7-over 149 which was 15 strokes behind Inkster and Ahn.

The 17-year-old has been slowed of late with wrist injuries and also missed the cut two weeks ago at the Women's British Open.

"I missed a couple of crucial putts here and there and a couple of shots didn't go the way I wanted to," Wie said.

"I didn't feel like I played this bad. It's just frustrating to see my score was high when I don't feel like I played that bad."

Veteran Canadian standout Lorie Kane also missed the cut with a combined 10-over 152.

Opening round leader Laura Diaz bogeyed the last two holes for a 1-under 70 and dropped into a three-way tie for third.

Diaz, who had finished 12th or better in three straight tournaments to end July before missing the cut at the Women's British Open two weeks ago, sits at 7-under 135 along with Lorena Ochoa and Kimberly Hall - one stroke off the lead.

Ochoa, the World No. 1, shot a bogey-free round of 6-under 65.

After missing this tournament a year ago, she opened with a 1-under 70 on Thursday with a pair of bogeys.

"I had an easy day. Sometimes you just see everything," Ochoa said.
