It's hard to imagine that only a decade ago, the site which now presents the
Doha Golf Club was a barren desert landscape. Course architect Peter
Harradine has carved out a spectacular championship course worthy
of challenging the world's best players.
At 7,355 yards, the par 72 Doha Golf Club offers some wonderful
holes. The par five ninth and 18th holes, measuring at 639 yards
and 587 yards, are great tests while some other par four challenges
at the fifth, sixth, 11th, 14th and 15th holes are equally astounding.
A total of 1,300 palm trees, 10,000 trees and 5,000 shrubs were
planted on the golf course which includes eight man-made lakes.
The manicured fairways and superb greens add to the prestige of
Doha Golf Club, the permanent home of the Commercialbank Qatar Masters.
