Twice major winner Mark O'Meara tempted fate by winning the traditional par-three contest on the eve of the U.S. Masters on Wednesday.
Since the pre-tournament event became part of Masters week schedule, no winner of the par-three has gone on to claim the green jacket.
O'Meara, who has not won on the PGA Tour since lifting the Masters and British Open crowns in 1998, finished the nine holes at five-under, one shot clear of fellow American Zach Johnson and Britain's Luke Donald.
David Toms and Rory Sabbatini delighted the large crowd each carding a hole-in-one. There have been 63 aces since the par-three tournament was first played in 1960.
