Tseng Yani wins final Corning Classic

Taiwan's Tseng Yani fired a two-under par 67 on Sunday to capture the LPGA Corning Classic by one stroke over fast-closing American Paula Creamer and South Korean Kang Soo-Yun.

Tseng finished 72 holes at 21-under par 267 to take the 225,000-dollar top prize despite a closing-round 65 from Creamer and a 69 from Kang.

She will not have a chance to defend the crown next year, however, because this will be the final edition of the tournament due to a lack of sponsorship.

Japan's Mike Miyazato was fourth on 269, two strokes ahead of German Sandra Gal, American Vicky Hurst, Japan's Ai Miyazato and South Korean Kim Song-Hee.

Tseng opened with a bogey but followed with an eagle at the par-5 second, her fourth eagle of the week and second on the second hole in as many days.

Tseng birdied the 12th and added birdies on 16 and 17 to frustrate Creamer, whose seven birdies in a bogey-free round included the last three holes.
