Made In Denmark 2014
Bradley Dredge moves four clear
August 15, 2014
Bradley Dredge will take a four-shot lead into the weekend at the Made in Denmark tournament following a second round of 68.
Despite play being suspended due to heavy rain in Aalborg, the Welshman followed up his opening five-under 66 with another fine round which included six birdies and three bogeys to move onto eight-under.
His nearest challenge comes from England's Simon Wakefield who currently sits on four-under at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort, while there is a group of four players one stroke behind which includes home favourites Thomas Bjorn and Thorbjorn Olesen.
Although Dredge holds a substantial advantage going into the weekend, the 41-year-old hasn't won since 2006 and Olesen is hoping that his countrymen in the crowd can help cheer him on to his second career European Tour title over the weekend.
"The crowds have been great," he said. "It's like playing a major championship out there. I've never seen anything like it. It's incredible and it really gave me a big boost out there. I just tried to keep going for them.
"I was grinding it out today and I managed to get it under par. It was a great feeling being in front of this crowd. It's good fun. I can't imagine what it is going to be like over the weekend."
