FedEx Cup Standings - Week 17/15

Matt Every successfully defended the Arnold Palmer Invitational by one shot from Henrik Stenson, with Matt Jones a shot behind in third and Morgan Hoffman one further back in fourth. Three behind the leader beginning his final round - last year he won from four behind - Every's victory is his second on the PGA Tour from 118 events and was achieved with a closing 6-under-par 66, including an 18-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole, for a 19-under 269 total. He becomes the first player since Payne Stewart in 1987 to win the event with four rounds in the 60s, and only the third in the tournament's 40 year history to win back-to-back, following Loren Roberts in 1994/5 and Tiger Woods in 2000/1/2/3, 2008/9 and 2012/3. Overnight leader by two, Stenson stumbled on the back nine with two three putts on the 15th and 16th, but recorded his third Top Ten finish of the season in four events. World No. 1 Rory McIlroy finished on 11-under for a share of 11th place.
Every climbs 136 places to 22nd in the FedEx Cup Standings, with Stenson up 44 places to 21st, Jones up 32 to 37th and Hoffman up 69 to 79th. Jimmy Walker continues to lead.
