Career
: First year on tour was in 1994, when he captured his first tour
victory at memorial Tournament and earned more than $1 million. He had four consecutive
67s to set a memorial record of 268 which led to a five stroke victory over Greg
Norman. Six weeeks earlier he finished runner-up to Jose Maria Olazabal at Masters
Tournament. He had nine top-10 finishes in 1994. He was a member of the inaugural
Presidents Cup team. Following three years of limited success (1983-85), left
to play in Asia, South Africa and elsewhere - used the Ben Hogan Tour as road
back to the US Tour.
Personal:
Credits marriage with
giving him focus to do well on Tour. Mini tour experience included PGT, Dakotas,
Golden State, South Florida and Carolina. Is the host to an annual tournament
in Minneapolis to raise money for the Childrens Cancer Research Fund. Was introduced
to golf by his father at the age of 5.
