in Pontypridd, lives in Pontypridd, attached to Pontypridd GC and in 1994, after
winning the Portuguese Open, was named "Pontypridd Man of the Year".
He learned to play at Pontypridd with father John and brothers Neil and Keith,
playing for Glamorgan. As an amateur won the Duncan Putter and W.I. Tucker trophies,
but considers the third place finishes in The Berkshire and Brabazon competitions
in 1989 as the springboard to his pro career. Partnered Ian Woosnam to second
place in 1991 World Cup. European
