Profile & History

Coached by his father Jochen, who is a club professional in Hamburg, while his Uncle Henning also plays the game. Had his first handicap at age of eight. Sprang to prominence by scoring a 62 in the 1989 German Open while doing military service. The following year he was German PGA Champion. Ambition to follow in footsteps of idol Bernhard Langer. "He has taught me a lot about how to play successful tournament golf and behave correctly."
