Montgomerie and Langer are Europe's anchormen for Friday
morning pairings

Valderrama, Spain 26th September - Experience is what both Ryder Cup captains have gone for in the pairings of the Friday morning four-ball matches.

The European team's anchormen are Colin Montgomerie and Bernhard Langer who play against Tiger Woods and his friend from Orlando Fla., Mark O'Meara.

The matches start at 8.0am local time with Jose Maria Olazabal and Costantino Rocca taking on PGA Champion, Davis Love III and Phil Mickleson.

Nick Faldo, who breaks the Ryder Cup record with his 11th appearance, is teamed up with Lee Westwood, who is playing in his first Ryder Cup. The pair face Fred Couples and Brad Faxon.

In the third match the Swedish pairing of Per-Ulrik Johansson and Jesper Parnevik are playing the 1996 Open Champion, Tom Lehman and Jim Furyk.

The pairings for the afternoon foursomes will be announced once the morning matches have been completed.

The players to sit out the morning matches for Europe include Ian Woosnam, who has played in seven Ryder Cups, along with Darren Clarke, Thomas Bjorn and Ignacio Garrido. The players left out of the American team include this year's Open Champion, Justin Leonard, Scott Hoch, Jeff Maggert and Lee Janzen.
