Cink out of World Matchplay

St Andrews - American Stewart Cink has withdrawn from next week's World Matchplay at Wentworth to pursue a place in the U.S. Tour Championship.

Cink, 25, is currently 32th on the U.S. Tour money list with the top 30 qualifying for the lucative Tour Championship in Atlanta beginning on 29th October.

Matchplay tournament director Peter German said a replacement had not yet been found for the 12-man event but was expected to be named later this week.
