Birdies
at the final two holes earned Stehen Scahill a victory but it secured his European
Tour card for next year. The 30-year-old New Zealander holed a curling 25-footer
for a two at the 215-yard 17th, then rolled in a 15-foot putt at the last for
a 70.
It left him two strokes clear of playing partner, Jose Manuel Lara
from Spain, who had a 72, and Sweden's Henrik Stenson, who also bridied the last
for a 70.
"I played fantastic all day but never made a putt until those
last two holes," said Scahill. "The one at 17 had a six-foot swing while I knew
I could afford to bogey the last and still get my card. So the onbe at 18 was
a bonus.
"But that was the whole year's golf rolled into two putts. I'm
pleased to be back on the tour after losing my card two years ago."
