Alberto Croce
picked up the Greek Seniors Open title after holing a four-foot putt for a birdie
3 at the fourth hole of a sudden death playoff with Spain's Antonio Garrido.
The pair had tied at 5-under
211, Croce shot a finishing 68, the second best round of the day, to set the clubhouse
target.
Former European
Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher seeking his first Seniors title since turning
50 in February, was disappointed to miss out narrowly on the chance to join Croce
and Garrido in the playoff.
He
ran up a bogey 5 at the 18th hole where he was bunkered, and a round of 71 meant
he finished on 212, but collected third place -- the highest finish of his rookie
season on the European Seniors Tour.
