Fryatt
smooth in win at Hershey
Edward Fryatt outlasted Brett Wayment on a steamy day at the Hershey Country Club
in southeastern Pennsylvania to capture the Nike Hersey Open by three shots. Fryatt
carded an even-par 70 on Sunday to finish with a four-day total of five-under
275, while Wayment shot a three-over 73 and finished alone in second at two-under
par. Fryatt earned
a first prize of $40,500 for his first Nike Tour win. He also moved up from 20th
to fifth on the money list.
Fryatt bogeyed the 12th and 13th holes to fall one shot behind Wayment, but a
five-foot eagle putt at the 14th gave Fryatt the lead. He added a birdie at 15
and took a three-shot lead at the next hole when Wayment bogeyed.
John Rollins finished third at one-under 279 after a three-under 67 on Sunday.
Rollins was one of just five players to shoot below par on Sunday.
Marco Dawson and John Wilson shot 68s to finish tied for fourth at even-par with
defending champion Michael Clark and Dennis Zinkon. TSN
