Horton's wins after late birdie blitz

Tommy Horton made a characteristic surge in the final round with five bidies over the last six hole for a one-shot win Zeptper Monte Carlo Invitational at Mont Agel.

Horton shot a final round 68 for a winning level par 207 then looked on as both Brask and Oakley failed on the final hole to force a playoff.

Horton who has won the money title for the past three years is now back in pole position, this his second win of the season, leapfrogged him to the top of the current standings.

"I am absolutely delighted," Horton said. "It was tough for the first nine holes with so much going on in the pro-am. But I got the putter going at the 13th with a birdie and it set me going."

Kevin Costner won the Pro-Am with an 18 under total off a 14 handicap.
