Goosen beat Santiago Luna 72-73 with a birdie on the last hole, David Frost defeated
Miguel Jimenez 76-78 and Ernie Els beat Jose Maria Olazabal 75-77. In
the earlier semifinals, the Spanish fourth seeds upset the top-seeded United States
2-1 and sixth-seeded South Africa beat second-seeded Australia by the same score.
