Jimenez & Perry tied into final day

Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez made a major bid to add the Valderrama World Golf Championship to his Volvo Masters success a week ago when he took a share of the third round lead on Saturday.

Jimenez was level with American Chris Perry on four-under-par in the chase for the $1 million first prize.

Jimenez shot a two-under 69. Perry, joint leader overnight, carded 72.

They were one shot ahead of five players including world number one Tiger Woods, who birdied the last two holes for a 70. Four other Americans -- Ryder Cup team mates Tom Lehman, Hal Sutton and Justin Leonard -- plus Nick Price of Zimbabwe, finished alongside Woods.

Lee Westwood maintained his chance of overhauling fellow Briton Colin Montgomerie as European number one when he finished in a group on two-under.

Montgomerie scored 72, probably too far back to win the tournament, but he will remain top player for a seventh successive year if neither Westwood, Spain's Sergio Garcia or South African Retief Goosen triumphs on Sunday.
