Monty
not happy with early start
Colin Montgomerie must head a dawn patrol in the opening round of the Bay
Hill Invitational in Orlando today.
He goes out at 7.45am in
the $2.5million tournament, bewildered at being given such treatment after capturing
a record six successive European money titles.
"I
am also in the world's top 10, for goodness sake," said Monty. "It has
to be at least 10 years since this happened to me, probably when I was a rookie
on the European tour.
"The
problem is that I have no ranking over here. I'll be sweeping the dew off the
fairways and that might be a problem - if I am awake."
Montgomerie leads a European
challenge that includes Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Ian Woosnam and Seve Ballesteros.
