Lawrie
and Van de Velde pull out of Dutch Open Scotland's
Paul Lawrie and France's Jean Van de Velde, two of the three players in Sunday's
three-way Open playoff, have pulled out of this week's Dutch Open, organisers
said Tuesday.
Lawrie, who
came back a 10-stroke deficit to snatch the claret jug, and Van de Velde, who
triple-bogied the 18th at Scotland's Carnoustie Golf Links to blow a three-stroke
lead, both cited "mental and physical exhaustion," as their reason.
The
tournament is at the Hilversumsche Golf Club, east of Amsterdam.
