Sam Randolph
and Craig Perks share the lead at eight-under par after the first round of the
Nike Inland Empire Open in California.
Randolph and Perks each played in the afternoon on Thursday after four players
were already in the clubhouse at six-under par.
Randolph is 51st on the money list this year and needs two good finishes in the
next two weeks to earn a spot in the field of 50 players for the season-ending
Nike Tour Championship.
Perks is also
on the bubble at number-62. He has played well of late, recording three top-25
finishes in the last month, including a runner-up at last week's Oregon Classic.
Todd Demsey, Marco Dawson, Stan Utley,
Scott Mendelsohn and Mike Meehan are each two shots off the pace at six-under,
while eight players are three strokes back at minus-five.
Kelly Gibson, last week's winner in Oregon, carded a four-under 68.
