Poulter
tied for lead after second round England's
Ian Poulter and Sebastien Delagrange of France share the lead at the halfway mark
of the Ivory Coast Open in Abidjan. Poulter,
the 23-year-old from Luton, carded a level-par 72 and Delagrange 68 for a three-under-par
141. It leaves
them just a shot clear of Maarten Lafeber of Holland, Markus Brier of Austria,
Welshman David Park, Marc Pendaries of France, and England's Simon Wakefield. Brier,
who shot a best-of-the-day 67 including six birdies, would have been a clear leader
but his first round 75 included a quadruple-bogey nine at the long 14th when he
twice visited the water. On
an extremely hot day when the temperature nudged 100 degrees, only eight players
finished under par, but half of those are British. The
cut came at seven-over-par 151 and 57 players survived including the three veteran
Scots, Mike Miller, Bill Longmuir and Billy McColl. |
