Robinson leads, Tiger in pursuit

England's Jeremy Robinson heads the field in the £800,000 Johnnie Walker Classic at Ta Shee in Taiwan after the opening round.

The Worcestershire golfer shares the lead in a three-way tie with New Zealand's Michael Campbell and Sweden's Johan Skold after all shot six-under-par 66s on a tough course.

World No 1 Tiger Woods, chasing a fifth straight victory, is on four under.

"Every time I tee up, I tee up to win. That's always been my goal since I was a little boy and that has not changed," he said.

"I hit the ball very well today but was not able to get anything going on the back nine," the American said. "I gave myself a lot of chances, but I was not able to make the putts. I burned a lot of lips but nothing went in."

The 23-year-old superstar looked happy and relaxed as he started his defence of the title, shooting four under par for the 18 holes.
