"Every
time I tee up, I tee up to win. That's always been my goal since I was a little
boy and that has not changed," he said.
"I
hit the ball very well today but was not able to get anything going on the back
nine," the American said. "I gave myself a lot of chances, but I was not able
to make the putts. I burned a lot of lips but nothing went in."
The
23-year-old superstar looked happy and relaxed as he started his defence of the
title, shooting four under par for the 18 holes.
