Last exempt places for Open up for grabs

The final three exempt places in next week's Open at Carnoustie will be decided at Loch Lomond these next four days.

First-time winners Sergio Garcia and David Park have booked their spots through a current form league table which has been operating on the European tour since the Volvo PGA championship at the end of May.

The next three on the table after the Standard Life Loch Lomond tournament will also be spared the 36-hole final qualifying for the Open.

Argentina's Angel Cabrera, runner-up to Garcia in the Irish Open on Sunday, currently lies third, just ahead of Garcia's fellow Spaniard Miguel Angel Martin and Lancashire's Paul Eales.

Midlander John Bickerton trails Eales by just £631 and South African Roger Wessels and Scot Gary Orr are not far behind them.
