Woods
in dig at SeveTiger
Woods has accused past master Seve Ballesteros of gamesmanship on the eve of the
Masters at Augusta. Woods
claimed the Spanish ace would try and put opponents off their stroke by coughing
when they are about to strike the ball - a charge first levelled at Ballesteros
by members of the American team during the 1991 Ryder Cup. With
prize-money in the sport rocketing, Woods said that tactics like that were becoming
commonplace. "I
think there's gamesmanship being played but the public just don't know what to
look at," Woods told The Sun. "Guys
will pull some things. Either you can't hear it or you don't see it, but guys
are definitely doing it. "Sam
Snead told me last year at the champion's dinner that he used to cough at guys
during their downswings. "Seve
tends to get a little sore throat every once in a while. It's just part of the
game." |
