Park
wins on final holeDavid
Park holed a 20-foot birdie putt on the final green at Badajoz, Spain to snatch
the Oki Telepizza Challenge from under the nose of playing partner Ola Eliasson
of Sweden. Park,
who led from round one, was a shot behind Eliasson standing on the 18th tee. But
while the Swede faltered and eventually took a bogey-six after visiting a bunker,
Park fired a third shot wedge to 20 feet and holed for his second Challenge Tour
victory. "I
knew I had to make a birdie at the last to force a play-off," said Park.
"I certainly didn't think Ola would make bogey because he had played so well.
But it happened to be my day." Both
players finished with 70, Park for an 11-under-par 277, Eliasson on 278, while
Scotland's Euan Little (71), and Sammy Daniels (71) of South Africa were joint
third a further eight strokes back. |
