in one season. O'Meara, who had won the Masters with a birdie on the 72nd hole,
closed with a 68 for even-par 280. He got into a playoff with Brian Watts, who
saved par on the 72nd hole with a spectacular bunker shot. O'Meara won the four-hole
playoff by two strokes. Tiger Woods chipped in for birdie on the 17th and made
a 30-foot birdie putt on the 18th to finish one stroke out of the playoff. Former
