Sandelin leads Spanish Open by three
strokes Jarmo Sandelin
of Sweden shot his third consecutive 6-under-par 66 on Saturday and took a three-stroke
lead with one round to play in the Spanish Open.
Sergio
Garcia, the 19-year-old Spanish star who is making his pro debut, shot a 70 in
the third round for a 210 total.
Sandelin
made birdies on five of the last nine holes on the El Prat course and reached
the 54-hole mark with a 198 total.
Ireland's
Paul McGinley also had a 66 on Saturday and moved into second place, one stroke
ahead of Spaniard Juan Carlos Aguero, who shot a 67.
At
the start of the round, Sandelin shared the lead with Paul Lawrie, but the Scot
shot a 73 and fell into a four-way tie for fifth place.
Ignacio
Garrido of Spain was tied for fourth with Britain's Jamie Spence at 13 under par.
Seve Ballesteros, who just
barely made the cut on Friday, shot a 73, leaving him at 216.
