Sandelin leads Spanish Open by three strokes

Jarmo Sandelin of Sweden shot his third consecutive 6-under-par 66 on Saturday and took a three-stroke lead with one round to play in the Spanish Open.

Sergio Garcia, the 19-year-old Spanish star who is making his pro debut, shot a 70 in the third round for a 210 total.

Sandelin made birdies on five of the last nine holes on the El Prat course and reached the 54-hole mark with a 198 total.

Ireland's Paul McGinley also had a 66 on Saturday and moved into second place, one stroke ahead of Spaniard Juan Carlos Aguero, who shot a 67.

At the start of the round, Sandelin shared the lead with Paul Lawrie, but the Scot shot a 73 and fell into a four-way tie for fifth place.

Ignacio Garrido of Spain was tied for fourth with Britain's Jamie Spence at 13 under par.

Seve Ballesteros, who just barely made the cut on Friday, shot a 73, leaving him at 216.
