Van de Velde relief as clubs show up

Jean Van de Velde, who kissed goodbye to the Open last month, was relieved to say hello to his clubs on the eve of the United States PGA championship today.

"I guess someone didn't wake up early enough in Paris and didn't put them on the plane," said the Frenchman.

"It was a good excuse to discover Chicago, but now I'm delighted they have arrived because it's pretty hard to play without your clubs."
