Royal
Melbourne has two courses, the West -- designed by Alister MacKenzie -- and the
East -- designed by 1924 Australian Open champion Alex Russell. The Composite
Course was first used for the Canada Cup in 1959 and has been the venue of all
the big events since. It is made up of 12 holes from the West and six from the
East courses. The course record is 63, set by Roger Mackay against par of 71 and
equalled by Ian Baker-Finch when the par was 72.
