Glen Hnatiuk fired a three-under-par 69 on Sunday to earn a one-shot victory at
the Nike Tri-Cities Open in Washington. Hnatiuk finished at 10-under par for his
first Nike Tour win of the year and the fourth of his career.
Larry Silveira and J.J. Henry tied for second at nine-under, while Tim Petrovic
and third-round co-leader Jim McGovern were next at minus-eight.
First-round co-leader Shane Supple, third-round co-leader Kelly Gibson and Steve
Haskins tied for sixth at seven-under. Casey Martin, also a first-round co-leader,
tied for ninth at minus-six.
Hnatiuk had three runner-up finishes on the Nike Tour this year and strengthened
his spot in the top-15 on the money list. The top 15 money winners at the end
of the year will earn their PGA Tour cards for 2000.
Garrett Willis, who started the day tied for the lead, struggled to a six-over
78 and finished tied for 24th at two-under.
Defending champion Matt Gogel tied for 29th at one-under.
