LykiaGolf Antalya to be first Links Golf Course in Turkey
LykiaGroup, owner of LykiaWorld in Ölüdeniz, is continuing to diversify its holiday offerings launching new holiday brands with different concepts for different expectations. Its latest offering LykiaGolf Antalya located right on the coast line of this beautiful area of Turkey, will be the first Links² Course in the whole of the country and become one of the elite Links golf courses worldwide. It is due to open in May 2007.
Built on a 100 hectare site, LykiaGolf will have 2 courses. The 18 hole Championship Course which is 6527 metres long and has a par of 72 and the 9 hole Academy course which is 1254 metres long and has a par of 27. Both courses are designed by Perry Dye who along with his father has designed over 300 golf courses worldwide including San Roque where the final qualifying round of the European Tour is held and notably extremely difficult. There will be no water hazards on the Championship course but on the short Academy course hole 7 will have an island green. The Championship course will have Links style bunkering and big waste bunkers.
LykiaGolf will be situated near the River Köprüçay alongside the Mediterranean coast within the province of Antalya, the seventh biggest province of Turkey with a population over 1.5 million. Its neighbour will be its sister resort, LykiaWorld Antalya which will compliment the golf club, where golfers and holidaymakers alike can stay and use all the facilities. LykiaWorld Antalya will be very similar to LykiaWorld Ölüdeniz and will offer a unique holiday experience to all those staying there with its Children's Paradise Island , Lake Bungalow 's Island and Spa Island .
