Follow in the footsteps of the golfing greats at Sun City Resort

The annual Nedbank Golf Challenge will be taking place at Sun City Resort in South Africa between 30 November and 4 December 2005. Known as the Million Dollar Challenge thanks to its huge prize of $2 million, last year's competition saw an end to Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia's five year battle for the top spot as the cheque was handed to South African Retief Goosen.

The Gary Player Golf Course, one of the top golf courses in South Africa, has been constructed in an extinct volcano and is acknowledged as one of the most difficult and demanding courses in the world. At 7,000m this course requires stamina and accuracy and many players may hope that their round echoes Gary Player's famous comment 'The harder you practice the luckier you get'! Some of the world's best golfers have played here including Tiger Woods and Colin Montgomery.

The resort also boasts the Lost City Golf Course, ranked second and filled with natural 'hazards' including 38 crocodiles in the lake, which Gary Player has acknowledged as his own favourite course.

While off the fairway, Sun City offers activities ranging from safari in the malaria-free Pilanesburg National Park by elephant, quad bike or hot air balloon, the longest and fastest zip slide in the world, to gourmet restaurants including the recently opened Santorini's, the health spa and helicopter trips to private sundowner locations. Sun City's four hotels offer a variety of accommodation from the luxury and opulence of the five-star Palace of the Lost City to the more relaxed Cabanas. For kids there is also the Kamp Kwena kids club that organises safaris and introduces children to the cultural aspects of South Africa.

ebookers.com is offering five nights at the Cabanas Hotel at Sun City Resort from £811 per person. This price includes return flights with Emirates from London Heathrow to Johannesburg, via Dubai and room only accommodation. To book call 0870 814 6016 or visit www.ebookers.com
